Live in Ecuador! Years ago we started to see more and more Americans moving to Ecuador, especially to cities like Cuenca, now it’s not a secret that they are a big part of our community and are here to stay. The reasons are straightforward:

Why Americans Choose to Live in Ecuador?

Cost of Living in Ecuador

Easy, you can get more stuff out of 10$ in Ecuador than in the US, besides the fact that the Ecuadorian currency is the American dollar, all of this combined makes it perfect for our American fellas who live in Ecuador.

Cost of Living in Ecuador

Ecuador is renowned for its low cost of living, making it an ideal destination for expats, retirees, and digital nomads. From affordable housing to inexpensive groceries, healthcare, and transportation, you can enjoy a high quality of life for a fraction of the cost in comparison to North America or Europe. Whether you’re living in vibrant cities like Quito or Cuenca or settling in beach towns, Ecuador offers a budget-friendly lifestyle without sacrificing comfort.

Real Estate is also affordable and property taxes are meager compared to US property Taxes.

Ecuador’s Use of the U.S. Dollar

Ecuador is unique among Latin American countries for using the U.S. dollar as its official currency. This makes living and doing business much easier for U.S. citizens who live in Ecuador, as there’s no need for currency conversion or fluctuating exchange rates. Visitors and expats alike appreciate the stability and familiarity of the U.S. dollar, which also helps protect against inflation and adds economic security.

Bank Finances and Investments

Ecuadorian banks are offering significantly higher interest rates compared to US banks, making them an attractive option for savers. While US banks provide relatively low returns on savings accounts, Ecuador’s financial institutions offer competitive interest rates, often exceeding 5% to 8% annually. This difference is driven by the country’s economic policies and banking practices, giving depositors better opportunities to grow their savings. For those looking to maximize their interest earnings, Ecuadorian banks present a compelling alternative.

Weather

Ecuador is the only place on the planet where you can get breakfast by the jungle, lunch by the mountains, and dinner by the beach all on the same day. That is how diverse our climate is. So if you decide to live in Ecuador you have multiple options.
